Students had the first of their dance training sessions last Thursday for our “Youth Dance for Life ” show. This event takes place on Friday 6th April 2017 in the Theatre Royal.
This event is organised by Transition Year Students in Newtown School as part of their Young Social Innovation (YSI) Project, “Youth Action for Life”. This YSI team are exploring creative ways of promoting exercise, maintaining health and getting people closer to reaching the exercise target of 150 minutes a week for adults and 60 minutes a day for teens in order to maintain health. Young people from both Waterpark College and Newtown have joined forces to create a dance extravaganza not to be missed. All funds raised will help the Solas Cancer Support Centre continue to sustain their services and develop 2 to 3 new services in 2017. Any support that you can give would be very much appreciated and would significantly help towards raising funds in aid of the Centre. We are currently looking for one major corporate sponsor for our event and will shortly be looking for other small sponsors. If you know anyone who might be interested please let the team know on [email protected]
